After a good rain there are some shallow depressions on Cowpie that hold water for a little while. Though only a couple of inches deep they provide reflections of the surrounding formations. This was my third attempt to get the reflections, the first two turned out to be overcast days. But today I had beautiful blue skies, white clouds and great reflections. At 5:40AM on a July morning in 2007, I was waiting on Cowpie for the sun to come up. The vertical formations are part of the Mitten ridge which runs east to west just a little on the north side of Cowpie in Sedona Arizona. So far the sun is just catching the clouds as everything else sits in shadows
