Artist's Description

This hike I started out from a small parking area just before the Cowpie formation and headed north toward the Mitten ridge. I then worked my way up the ravine between Cowpie and the Mitten Ridge heading east. Turned out to be a relatively easy hike. Here I'm almost at the top of Cowpie, on the left side looking back to the west. I was hoping to catch some waterfall action along the way but the rain was too light. I did get this nice grouping of cactus. The ragged ridge in the middle distance is the Crimson Cliffs located near the beginning of the Schnebly Hill road in Sedona Arizona.
